Shirley’s Chocolate Float

Ingredients:

Batter

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp shortening or butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

 

Sauce

  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar packed
  • 4 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4 Cups water boiling

 

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cocoa.

Combine melted shortening, milk and vanilla; stir into flour mixture.

Spread evenly in a deep ungreased dish.

Combine brown sugar, cocoa and halt water, pour over batter.

Bake at 350F for 45mins.
